Rhodonite stems from the word Rhodos, which is the Greek word for rose. This refers to the stone’s distinct pink rose color. However, there are Rhodonites that have beautiful black veins or patches throughout the stone and there are some that are entirely black. Greeks and Romans would wear a Rhodonite as an amulet during their journey, for protection against attacks and thieves. This crystal is excellent in aiding in self-esteem, self confidence, and compassion. It carries a high vibration of love, hence why it resonates with the heart chakra.
